1Day Arrive in Delhi

You will start this Pangot Kilbury Bird Watching Tour with your arrival in Delhi. Our tour representative will pick you up from Delhi Airport/ Delhi Railway Station and drive to Pangot Bird Sanctuary after a drive of around 8 hours. You can check into the jungle lodge. Our birding expert will introduce you to the common birds you can spot in Pangot. You can make a checklist of all the birds you hope to spot here. Pangot Kilbury Bird Sanctuary is one of the best birding hotspots in Uttarakhand. Birds are the major attraction in the Pangot Kilbury area near Nainital. The birds you can expect to spot here are Black-throated & Yellow-browed Tits, Black-headed Jay, Himalayan Black-lored and Green-backed Tits, Grey Bush Chat, Slaty-headed Parakeet, White-tailed Nuthatch, Spotted and Oriental Turtle Doves, Large Hawk- and Common Cuckoos, Greater Yellownape, Russet Sparrow, Maroon Oriole, Chestnut-bellied Nuthatch, Bar-tailed Treecreeper, Large-billed Crow, Large Cuckooshrike, Scaly-breasted Woodpecker, Speckled Piculet.

2Day Full-day bird watching in Pangot

Today we will have a full-day bird watching in Pangot. We will take morning walks into the forests and spot various birds. Mountain Hawk-Eagle, Blue-winged Minla, Slaty-headed & Red-breasted Parakeets, Common Kestrel, Chestnut-bellied Rock Thrush, Crested Serpent Eagle, Brown-fronted woodpeckers, Rufous-bellied woodpeckers, Stripe-breasted woodpeckers, Himalayan Prinia, Streaked Laughingthrush, Grey Bush Chat, Whiskered Yuhina, Long-tailed & Grey-backed Shrikes, Upland Pipit, kalij pheasants, Koklass pheasant, Cheer Pheasant, Black-throated Thrush, Mistle Thrush, Tickell’s Leaf Warbler, Ultramarine Flycatcher, Verditer Flycatcher, Asian Brown Flycatcher, Blue-capped Redstart, Himalayan Bluetail, Grey-hooded Warbler, Greenish Warbler, Whistler’s Warbler, Rusty-tailed Flycatcher, Rufous-bellied Niltava, White-throated Laughingthrush, Chestnut-crowned Laughingthrush, Besra etc. Overnight rest in Pangot.

3Day Bird watching in Pangot

Today you will wake up early as dawn is the best time to spot and photograph different birds. We will visit Cheer Point and this is the best place to look out for Cheer Pheasant. You may also spot a leopard lurking in the woods if you are lucky. After breakfast, you will do bird watching in Timla Pani and other nearby places. Overnight stay in the jungle lodge.

4Day Excursion to Nainital and bird-watching

Today we will go on an excursion to Nainital and the nearby lakes. You can spot many birds around the lakes. This is a kind of lake tour of Nainital, in which you will visit Bhim Tal, Nachiketa Tal, Ram Lake, Sita Lake, Naldamyanti Lake, Eagle Lake, Hanuman Lake, Laxman Lake, and Bharat Lake. You can spot many wild creatures of the Himalayan region in Nainital Zoo. You will return to Pangot in the evening and stay here for the night in the jungle lodge.

5Day Excursion to Sattal

Today you will have another exciting bird-watching opportunity in Sattal. This is a group of seven interconnected lakes and hence it is called Sattal. This is a prime bird-watching hotspot in Nainital. We will go along with our bird expert and visit some popular places that are famous for their bird sightings like Sattal Studio and Chafi. The birds we will try to spot here are Red-Billed Leiothrix, Ashy Bulbul, Siberian Rubythroat, Mountain Bulbul, partridges, spotted & slaty-backed forktail, etc. The evening is a relaxing time and we will go on nature walks in the woods and overnight rest in Pangot.

6Day Sattal bird watching

Today is another exciting day of bird watching on this tour. We will continue our bird watching and go for morning and evening sessions. We will hope to catch sight of birds such as Mountain Bulbul, Green Shrike-babbler, Slaty-backed Forktail, Red-Billed Leiothrix, Ashy Bulbul, Siberian Rubythroat, Mountain Hawk-Eagle, Himalayan Shrike-babbler, Blue-winged Minla, Crested Serpent Eagle and others. Return to Pangot in the evening and rest overnight here in the jungle lodge.

7Day Morning session of bird watching + Departure from Pangot

Today you will go in the early morning to spot the birds in Pangot. We hope to cover some birds we may have missed out on in our earlier outings. Some birds we may target are Grey-winged Blackbird, Black-faced Warbler, Lesser Yellownape, Grey-hooded Warbler, Greater Yellownape, Cheer Pheasant, Kalij Pheasant, Brown-fronted Woodpecker, Koklass Pheasant. Later we will proceed to check-out from Pangot and reach Delhi. We will drop you at Delhi Airport/ Delhi Railway Station and you can continue your return journey by train/ flight.

Confirmation Policy

Upon booking, the traveller will receive a confirmation voucher via email, within 24 hours.
In the special cases of slots not being available, feasible alternatives will be provided to the customer, in regards to the customer’s preference. In such cases, a new voucher would be sent via email, consisting of the new travel details.

Cancellation Policy

Any cancellation made before 20 days prior to the date of departure, would levy a 30% of total tour cost as cancellation charges.
Due to any restrictions such as sudden government policies or regulations, health hazards, medical emergencies, or unprecedented weather conditions, activities and tours may be nonoperational and be cancelled. In cases such as these, operators will attempt to cater to the traveller an alternate, which is feasible in nature. However, any refund would not be catered.
