1Day Arrival in Delhi + Delhi to Rishikesh

Your Chopta Mandal Bird Watching Tour starts from Delhi. As you arrive at Delhi Airport/ Delhi Railway Station, our tour representative will pick you up and then drive onwards to Rishikesh. This will be a drive of around 6 hours from Delhi to Rishikesh. On arrival in Rishikesh, you will check into the hotel and then have an overnight stay in Rishikesh.

2Day Rishikesh to Chopta

Today you will check-out from Rishikesh and reach Chopta, which is known as the bird-watching hotspot in Uttarakhand. You will view the Ganga and Alaknanda rivers flow on this route and the scenic river banks and hills. On reaching Chopta you will check into the jungle lodge and then rest here for some time. You can take a leisurely evening walk around the hotel and view the lush greenery of Chopta. You will feel the beauty of the scenic surroundings and the grasslands and the forests here on your stroll. You can take your DSLR cameras and bird-watching binoculars to spot some birds. The deodar and rhododendron trees are a haven for birds such as Siberian Stonechat, Grey Bush Chat, Dark-breasted Rosefinch, Pink-browed Rosefinch, Green-tailed Sunbird, and Rock Bunting. After this stroll, you will return to your jungle lodge and have an overnight stay.

3Day Bird watching in Chopta

Today you will have a whole day to do bird watching in and around Chopta. This village in Uttarakhand is famous for its birds and you can see many migratory birds besides the resident birds and endemic species. You can target some bird species like the Mountain Hawk Eagle, Scarlet Finch, Himalayan Monal, and Hill Partridge. If you are visiting Chopta during the winter season you can spot Bearded Vultures, Laughingthush, and Snow Partridge. Birders have identified almost 140 different bird species in Chopta and adjoining areas. You can spot Khalij Pheasants, Koklass Pheasants, Nuthatches, Brown Dipper, Mrs. Gould’s Sunbird, Russett Sparrow, Tickell’s Leaf Warbler, Fire-tailed Sunbird, Kingfisher and several species of woodpeckers. After a great day of bird watching in Chopta, it is time for you to return to the jungle lodge and stay here for the night.

4Day Chopta to Mandal

You will check-out from Chopta after breakfast and proceed to Mandal, which is a small village near Chopta. After you check into the hotel in Mandal you will go for bird watching. The key species you can expect to spot in Mandal are Golden Bush Robin, Pink-browed Rosefinch, Brown Dipper, Yellow-rumped Honeyguide, Scarlet Finch, Scaly-breasted Cupwing, Spot-winged Grosbeak, Collared Grosbeak, Spot-winged Finch, Streak-breasted scimitar babbler, Crested Kingfisher. Some common birds that are found in Mandal are the Long-tailed Minivet, Oriental Turtle Dove, Red-billed blue magpie, and Yellow-billed blue magpie. You can always find several species of woodpeckers, flycatchers, and kingfishers like the Grey-headed Woodpecker, Verditer Flycatcher, Ultramarine Flycatcher, Rufous-bellied Woodpecker, Grey-headed Woodpecker, Great Barbet and many other birds. Later you will return to the hotel and have overnight rest and stay.

5Day Mandal to Rishikesh

In the morning you will check-out from Mandal and we will drive to Rishikesh. You can check into the hotel in Rishikesh. You can spend time in Rishikesh at leisure and exploring the markets and local sites. Later you will have rest and overnight stay in the hotel.

6Day Rishikesh to Delhi + Departure from Delhi

You will check-out from Rishikesh after breakfast and drive to Delhi. We will drop you at Delhi Airport/ Delhi Railway Station and you can board a flight/ train to your hometown.

Confirmation Policy

Upon booking, the traveller will receive a confirmation voucher via email, within 24 hours.
In the special cases of slots not being available, feasible alternatives will be provided to the customer, in regards to the customer’s preference. In such cases, a new voucher would be sent via email, consisting of the new travel details.

Cancellation Policy

Any cancellation made before 20 days prior to the date of departure, would levy a 30% of total tour cost as cancellation charges.
Due to any restrictions such as sudden government policies or regulations, health hazards, medical emergencies, or unprecedented weather conditions, activities and tours may be nonoperational and be cancelled. In cases such as these, operators will attempt to cater to the traveller an alternate, which is feasible in nature. However, any refund would not be catered.
