Your Himalayan Wildlife Safari Tour will start as you arrive in Delhi. Our tour representative will greet you at Delhi Airport/ Delhi Railway Station. After a brief introduction to this tour, we will now drive by private vehicle to Pangot. This will be a drive of around 8-9 hours. You can do bird-watching along the way. You can check into the wildlife resort on arrival in Pangot. Later have lunch and then you will have the entire day to spend on leisure activities. You will stay in Pangot for the night.
This will be an exciting day of this tour as you will wake up to the melodious bird songs in Pangot. The emerald green forests in Pangot and the scenic mountain and valley views will captivate you and make your bird-watching even more exciting. You will have to start early if you want to have the best view of the birds in the trees. Use your binoculars to spot the birds. You can go on a short trek to Cheena Peak, which is a very popular birding site in Pangot. You will do bird-watching in Baggar, Pangot village, Gughu Khan. The jungle walks will reward you with beautiful bird sightings. You will come across small villages along the way where you can meet the locals.
The forests in Pangot teem with exciting birdlife. The rhododendron and pine forests with small streams and rivulets are best for birding. Bird watchers have identified almost 300 unique bird species in the forests in Pangot. This has made Pangot into a famous bird-watching site in Uttarakhand.
Some common birds you can spot here are Kalij Pheasants, Crested Serpent Eagle, Rufous-bellied Woodpecker, Mistle Thrushes, Rufous-bellied Niltava, Whiskered Yuhina, Common Kestrel, Chestnut-bellied Rock Thrush, Grey-backed Shrike, Koklass Pheasants, Cheer Pheasants, Himalayan Bluetail, Blue-capped Redstart, Grey Bush Chat, Mountain Hawk-Eagle, Upland Pipit, Red-breasted Parakeets, Slaty-headed Parakeets, White-throated Laughingthrush, Striated Laughingthrush, Streaked Laughingthrush, Long-tailed Shrike, Besra, Brown-fronted Prinia, Black-throated Prinia. After this guided bird-watching walk you will return to your lodge and rest here for the night.
You will do bird-watching early morning in Pangot and target some birds you may have missed. Later check-out from Pangot and reach Sattal. You may make halts on the way for bird-watching. After you check-in at the hotel in Sattal, you will spend the evening bird-watching in Sattal. Sattal is full of rugged mountains, lakes, and wooded areas. Sattal is great for bird-watching and you can go boating in the lake and spot birds. The common birds you can spot in Sattal are the Siberian Rubythroat, Rufous-gorged Flycatcher, Red-billed Leiothrix, Rock Bunting, and White-crested Laughingthrush. After this bird-watching in Sattal, you will return to your hotel and rest here for the night.
You can go bird-watching in Sattal in the early morning hours. Later you will check-out from Sattal and drive to Jageshwar. On the way, you can make short halts and do bird-watching. On arrival in Jageshwar, you can freshen up and take a walk in the nearby deodar forests for bird-watching. You can spot many birds here like the Blue Whistling Thrush, Plumbeous Water Redstart, Red-billed Blue Magpie, Mountain Hawk-Eagle, Large Hawk-Cuckoo, Himalayan Prinia, and Grey-headed Woodpecker, Asian Barred Owlet among others.
Today we will visit the Vridha Jageshwar temple. This is a short trek of around 3 km and on the way you will be spellbound by the natural beauty of Jageshwar. Vridha Jageshwar is a Shiva temple that was built around the 8th to 12th centuries. This is also the place from where the river Jata Ganga originates. You can view the mountain peaks like Hiriya Shikhar and other Himalayan mountain ranges from the temple. You can try to spot some Himalayan birds on the trek. On the way, you will come across Kumaoni villages. Here you can meet some local people and understand the culture, and lifestyle of these rural folk. You will have an overnight stay in Jageshwar.
Today you will check-out from Jageshwar and reach Munsiyari. This village in the Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand is an adventure destination where you can do several exciting things like trekking, bird-watching, jungle walks, camping, etc. Munsiyari offers you a cultural view of the Kumaoni rural villages and their lifestyle. The rustic life here will charm you and touch you with its simplicity. The other thing that will attract you to Munsiyari is the view of the Nanda Devi, one of Indiaβs highest mountain peaks. You can also view Panchchuli and other mountain peaks from Munsiyari. This is also the village from where you can undertake treks to Milam and Ralam Glaciers. The village folk are experts in handicrafts and they make Pashmina shawls, woolen blankets, and carpets from sheep wool. Traditional dances like Chhapeili, Cholia, and Jhora are delightful to watch. Munsiyari is one of the last villages before the Indo-Tibetan border starts. You will spend the day around Munsiyari and go for village walks. In the evening you will return to the hotel in Munsiyari and have overnight rest and stay.
From today till the next two days, you will be on various forest walks and cultural tours in Munsiyari. You can also dedicate these days to a bit of bird-watching and sightseeing around Munsiyari. You can do various adventurous activities like trekking. You can visit Thambri Kund, Maheshwari Kund, Darkot Village, Jimi Ghat Waterfall, Goriganga River, and trek to Khaliya Top. You can visit the villages and experience the rustic lifestyle of the tribal people who live here.
Bird-watching is another spectacular thing you can do here. There are many wild jungle trails you can go for and spot the birds. You can spot birds of the Himalayan range like Grey-winged Blackbird, Rufous Sibia, White-throated Laughingthrush, Spotted Laughingthrush, White-collared Blackbird, Himalayan Monal, Slaty-headed Parakeet, Himalayan Woodpecker, Streaked Laughing Thrush, Himalayan Black-lored Tit, Grey-winged blackbird, Scaley Billed Woodpecker, Verditer flycatcher, Little pied flycatcher, Black Redstart.
Today we will drive from Munsiyari to Ranikhet. On the way, we will cross Thal and Kausani. During your drive, you can view the mountain peaks of Nanda Devi, Nanda Kot, Trishul, Chaukhamba, Neelkanth, Hathi Parvat, Panchchuli, and Annapurna Range. Ranikhet has tea gardens and pine forests and you can also view them on your drive. You will check into the hotel in Ranikhet and have an overnight stay.
After breakfast, you will check-out from Ranikhet and proceed further on this tour. Today we will drive to Corbett National Park. You can check into the jungle lodge/ wildlife resort in Corbett National Park. Later you can relax in your hotel or spend the evening in leisure activities. You will have dinner and an overnight stay in Corbett.
Today you will go on a jeep safari in the morning and evening times. Jim Corbett National Park is one of the finest national parks in India to get close to the tigers. You can go for bird-watching walks in the jungle and also view the mammals here. The dense forests, grasslands, hilly areas, water bodies, ridges, and river streams are ideally suited for several wildlife to flourish here in Jim Corbett National Park. Even bird sightings can become very exciting here. You can view Tigers, Leopards, Chital, Sambar, Asian Elephant, Brown Fish Owl, Great Hornbill, Lineated Barbet, Chestnut-headed Bee Eater, Tawny Fish Owl, and Oriental Pied Hornbill. After this wildlife safari and bird-watching walks in Jim Corbett National Park, we will return to our wildlife resort and stay here for the night.
Today you will check-out from Corbett and reach Delhi by road. This tour ends here you can return to your hometown with many sweet memories of this wildlife tour.
